Lunch at Horseshoe Bay (The North Shore)

We had lunch at Horseshoe Bay, just North of Lighthouse Park. The restaurant was called Bay Moorings and Bar. The view we had from the terrace was amazing!
One of the main ferry's to and from Vancouver Island leaves from this port.
Wouldn't you like to go skiing on those mountains in July Bryan?!?!

Lighthouse Park Continued

Wherever you are in Vancouver the monutains seem to follow you. The views are amazing, and I'm sure a lot of the residents take it for granted.
If you look over Adri's shoulder you can see Downtown Vancouver in the distance.
The montains go from green and full of trees, to white and snow covered within km's of eachother. It's really a sight to see.

Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver

We went to West Vancouver to do a little hiking in Lighthouse Park. It was a beautiful walk from the car through the forest full of extremely tall pines and firs to the rocky water front. The tree Adri is standing next to fell over, but when it died it was 525 years old!

Richmond (Little Asia)

We ventured to the town of Richmond to do a little shopping. Now I thought the city of Vancouver was home to a lot of Asian people, but Richmond is basically little Asia.

The mall that we went to was all Asian stores and restaurants. They had a lot of interesting stuff, some of which was hard to figure out, because it was all written in Mandarin. The best store was called Daiso. Everything in the store is 2 dollars, and it has 2 floors. We bought a lot of stuff, even a smiling cat piggy bank!

These pictures are of the water fountain shows, that include lights and music. They go on every hour inside the mall.

We finished the day with a drive around Stanley Park. It's amazing how almost everywhere you look the mountains surround you. I didn't get any pictures but there were also 2 games of cricket going on in the middle of the park. The park has changed a lot since the last time we were here, there was a huge storm last year that brought down many of the huge trees throughout the forest.

We ventured to Granville Island, which is basically filled with a whole lotta trendy shops and art gallery's. Not to mention a great market where we had some bar-b-q pizza by the water. Oh yeah, and the seagulls are the size of pigs here! They're Huge!!!

We explored downtown VanCity today and we parked right in front of these neat houses that are floating in the water. If you've ever watched McGyver, these were the same houses like the ones he lived in. And it was filmed in Vancouver....what are the chances?!?!

This is the little guy we came to see in Vancouver. Adriana's brother's new little baby Riley! He is a very quiet baby, who sleeps and eats most of his day.

These pictures are from the Okanagon Valley. It is breath taking. This is about 6 or 7 hours into our drive. We have so many more pictures, and they really don't do it justice you must go.

Shortly after, we had to drive on windy roads that were on the edge of high mountains. I had to look away at points because it was so scary. Unfortunately I couldn't get these shots on camera.

On our way to BC!!

On our way to Vancouver!! We left at 8:15 and started for Banff. It was so beautiful. Mountain after Mountain.

Soon we reached Glacier National Park. The mountains are very high, with a lot of snow and glaciers up top. We stopped on the side of the road to take these.

Tuesday July 22

On Tuesday we ventured out to Downtown Calgary. We saw the tower and noticed it is smaller than most buildings. We also saw the Saddledome. Apparently there were hocley players training in there but we didn't see any.

The Day After Supper at the Riti House

The one thing that I don't undertsand about Calgary is that it is so wide out and there is so much land, yet they build their houses 2 feet away from eachother. They also don't have very big backyards. So yesterday we drove 45km South to Nat's parents' place. They live in a community of very big houses that are built around a man made lake. Ross told me Iginla has a house in the same neighborhood. Our camera died 5 minutes after we got there, but this is the view from their balcony, looking into their backyard. We had a swim at the lake and then came back for dinner, and some scotch on the patio. We have receieved nothing but the greatest hospitality from everyone we've met here.
